Coming Soon... OHYG! Basketball

Thanks to Alan Tucker and Cody Partlow for going the extra mile to help us get a teen boys' church league basketball team together for the upcoming season. Soon, we'll have to start having practices and such.

Naturally, we'll need to get jerseys, so I want to challenge you, O Reader, to tell me what you think about a couple of things:

1. What should be our team colors?
Red and White?
Yellow and Green?
Blue and Yellow?
Purple and Green?
Orange and White?

What do you think?

2. What shall we call ourselves? It is probably understood that Bucky will continue to be our mascot, but we can't just call ourselves the Old Hickory Beavers.
The Ravenous Rodents
The Ferocious Furballs
The Flying Hedghogs
The Biting Badgers
The Badger Claws
The Ill-Tempered Stuffed Mini Mammals
The Dunking Prairie Dogs

Or should we just carry Bucky along and not have a name?

Kidnap Breakfast 2007

This morning was our annual kidnap breakfast for the new youth group members. In honor of the annoying voice changer that Graham got at Cracker Barrel, I decided to make this an audio post...using a voice changer. Please see the video for a summary of today.

The big highlight in my opinion was chasing down Johnston Ellis who was out walking with his dad. Poor Johnston got tackled to the ground, then carried off to the big church bus. Overall, I think he liked it, though.

There are now about 300 pictures from church camp available to be viewed online. You can access the church camp album by clicking here if you want to see larger versions of the images, or you can just view the slideshow above.

Diet Coke + Mentos

Everyone remember the experiment we tried at the Bells' house on the 4th this year? Or how about Cody and Cornbread's school project video? (Cody: "I'm on fire!")

I wonder if this kit would enhance the fun any?

Fall Creek Falls Pictures

As I start getting more pictures, I will upload them so all of us can share them. These are some of the ones that Carolina and I took; mostly on the walk down to the falls. Even though the water level is low this year, it's still a beautiful place!

If you click on the picture, it should link you to the album.

Children of Light

I thought camp this year went wonderfully. I had been scared to death, having no idea what you guys are typically used to. But everyone jumped in and made it a great week. I'm especially thankful for our 3 newest Children of Light, Graham Stovall, Garrett Bell, and Micah Musel. All three were baptized into Christ. No matter how much work it took, how many volunteers, how much sleep was lost over getting it all together, to know that this week impacted people's lives in a positive way makes it all worth it.

So how about you guys? What was your favorite part of camp? Where did you see Jesus the most in your fellow campers?
